Member Care - Long Termers
📍 Lesvos, Greece
🕒 Full-time
📅 As soon as possible, or to be agreed upon in consultation
Description
The projects of Eurorelief are primarily led and operated by volunteers. International volunteers come from around the world to volunteer with Eurorelief, bringing hands-on-hope to people in difficult circumstances.
As a Member Care Team Member, you’ll support our long-term volunteers (serving 6 months or more) by being there for them spiritually, emotionally, and socially during their time on the island. Your role is to help create a supportive environment where volunteers feel cared for, can reflect on their experiences, and grow both personally and in their faith.
We’re especially looking for individuals or couples with pastoral experience, as this role involves not only offering care and encouragement, but also walking alongside volunteers as they grow spiritually and personally during their time of service.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one pastoral and relational care to long-term volunteers
Support spiritual and personal growth through regular check-ins and prayer
Debrief volunteers at the end of their term and help them navigate transitions
Be a consistent and caring presence throughout their time of service
Requirements
Availability at least one year
Spiritually and emotionally mature, stable, and flexible
Strong relationship and communication skills
Willingness to be available odd hours to accommodate and support volunteers outside of camp
Leadership skills and experience.
Identification with the Christian values of Eurorelief.
As with all Eurorelief roles, this is a volunteer position: applicants must be self-funded and should have a network of friends and supporters at their "home-base". The first 3 months serve as a probationary period.

Eurorelief was founded in 2005 and deployed to Kalamata, Greece in response to deadly earthquakes. Eurorelief later took up work on the island of Lesvos in 2015 as one of the NGOs serving within Moria Hotspot. We continue to fulfill key roles in Mavrovouni Registration and Identification Center (RIC), the new temporary camp on the island of Lesvos. In collaboration with camp management and other actors on the island, we provide basic non-food items, oversee shelter allocation, are involved in maintenance and building projects as well as education and recreational activities. Since summer 2021, we are also present in RIC Zervou on the island of Samos. For more info, go to Our Work.
